To join our apprenticeship program, you must go through our apprentice orientation.

To officially apply for our program, you will need to attend an in-person application/orientation day. When attending an application/orientation day you are asked to bring documents that will be compiled in your application. You MUST come prepared with printed Photocopies. Documentation presented in forms such as emails, pictures on devices, and original copies will not be accepted.

Required documents

Printed photocopy of a valid driver’s license – Must be current and unexpired – Must show that you are at least 18 years of age

Optional extra credit documents

Printed Photocopy of Proof of Education (10th grade+, GED, High school diploma, College degrees), • Printed Photocopy of Work history from the last 6 years, these will have to be official documents (check Stubs, W2’s or go to https://esd.wa.gov/online-login for access to Washington State Work History). • Printed Photocopy of Certificates of completion of a state-registered Pre-Apprenticeship • Printed Photocopy of Certifications that pertain to construction work. • Printed Photocopy of DD214 or military ID if you are a veteran or currently serving. • Printed Photocopy of CDL class A, B, C

Orientations are held at the Fire Fighters’ Hall, 1109 S 50th St, Tacoma, WA 98408, on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

Orientation Itinerary


You MUST attend the full orientation to complete an application • 7am- Doors open • 7am-8am Sign-in • 8am Doors closed and no new participants are let into orientation • 8am-11am Orientation information presentation • 11am-12pm Knowledge Assessment • 12pm-1pm Applications

What to bring when attending an Orientation


• Photocopies of all documents you wish to submit. • Items to take notes, such as a pen/paper.
